Daily working practices naturally include consideration to these areas and we continually improve our outlook on the matter. An open door policy means that interally we welcome and apply suggestions from the workforce when ever possible. Procurement, Environmental and Social Policy Statement
SFM Technology Limited works at the forefront in the design and manufacturer of harvesting machinery for the horticultural industry and is also a main supplier of Ground Support Equipment to the aerospace industry.
Wherever possible we work in a commercially responsible way in respect of procurement and environmental impact.
SFM Technology believes that it has a responsibility wherever practicable to care for and protect its physical and social environment. The company works with an ethos of continual improvement and encourages others to join us in this effort.
The company recognises that key areas of impact are:
energy consumption / raw material / waste generation / emissions to air & water / water use / transport / social responsibility
SFM Technology will wherever practicably possible:
• Adopt the highest environmental standards possible
• Identify areas of environmental or social impact and minimise wherever possible
• Minimise waste and maximise recycling
• Purchase sustainable / recycled products
• Include environmental considerations where appropriate
• Locally source materials and staff as applicable
We use a periodic questionnaire to gather information and remind / request that suppliers have systems in place for managing resources effectively and restoring areas affected by waste and safeguarding biodiversity. We also highlight
the pledges that we make and use this opportunity to encourage suppliers to adopt our pledges.
