This machine has been designed specifically with the demands of modern cider apple growers in mind. Mechanical harvesting of apples means that unwanted contamination can be present in the crop prior to processing. The apple cleaner incorporates a method of removing twigs, leaves and other debris as well as the facility to wash the apples in muddy conditions. Two sets of PVC covered webbed belts transport the apples from one end of the cleaner to the other past 2 cleaning ploughs that separate the debris from the apples . All of the waste material is deposited at the same end of the machine making it easy to clean up. |

This low-profile Tipping Trailer is of all-steel construction and has a capacity of between 1-2 tonnes. It has a ramp-back with a high tipping level, tips to 70 degrees and is fitted with wide tyres in order to minimise ground damage.
This Trailer is the ideal working companion for the Super Scamp Apple Harvester.
There are 2 versions of the trailer.
The larger trailer has centrally mounted wheels and a capacity of approximately 3 tonnes. |

The Blower is designed for windrowing of fruit in orchards where herbicide strips are present. This Blower is fitted with a hinged "Trouser Leg" output nozzle and the power requirement is in the region of 30 Kw through the tractor's P.T.O. at a maximum of 540 R.P.M. |

The Front Paddles are used to clear the fruit from the centre of the row forming 2 rows of fruit to be collected and to provide a clear passage for the tractor.
The Front Paddles have a clearing width of 2.4 metres (std) 2.55 metres (optional) and are mounted on the front of the tractor with their own 3-point linkage. The paddle and linkage are driven hydraulically by the tractor's own hydraulics. A flow rate of 15 Litres per minute is required to operate the Paddles.
We produce 2 versions of a single front paddle which are designed to allow all of the fruit to be cleared to the pickup head side of the tractor. The larger version can also have a brush fitted to it for road and yard cleaning. The smaller version is to be used in conjunction with narrower orchard tractors.
This equipment can be used in conjunction with the
Hydraulic Tree Shaker, Orchard Blower, Micro Sabre , Mini Sabre
and the 2.4 meter version comes as standard with the Sabre. |

The Hydraulic Tree Shaker is a quick and effective way of removing the fruit from the trees with no damage at all and is a one-person operated machine.
The machine is simply mounted on the tractor's 3-point linkage with the hydraulic drive taken off the P.T.O. shaft. The controls (electronic or cable) are located in the tractor cab within easy reach of the operator to allow quick and efficient operation.
The jaws of the Shaker open in excess of 180 degrees allowing the operator to drive in a straight line thus simplifying the operation and enabling in excess of 200 trees per hour to be shaken.
The Shaker arm pivots through 90 degrees making this an ideal machine for all row widths and the efficient shaking action makes it suitable for all types of tree.
This shaker has a distance of 2.25 meters from the centre of the tractor to the centre of the tree and is suitable for narrower rows.
The minimum power requirement
for the Tree Shaker is 50 H.P. |

The Mechanical Tree Shaker is a low-cost way of removing the fruit from the trees with no damage at all but which requires two operators, one to drive the tractor and the other operative to connect the sling to the tree.
The Shaker uses a wire cable and a reinforced nylon sling, which is put around the tree which works with a remarkable degree of efficiency. The Shaker is mounted on the tractor's 3-point linkage and is P.T.O. Driven |

The Micro Sabre is a tractor-mounted apple harvester and is a one-person operated machine, which is designed to suit the needs of smaller narrow orchards. The Micro Sabre consists of a side-mounted 800mm wide pick-up system on to which a Tree Sweep is mounted. The fruit is collected by the pick-up system and is cleaned by our unique cleaning system, which employs no moving parts, which allows the debris to be discharged at the rear of the machine. The fruit is then carried up by the auger and deposited on to the rear discharge elevator and then delivered in to the trailer. |

The Mini Sabre is designed to be easily mounted onto the tractor's Cat 2 three-point linkage with the hydraulic pump mounted onto the tractor's P.T.O. shaft. The machine has an integral trailer hitch, which is operated by a double acting hydraulic cylinder and is clearly visible from the operator's seat. The machine's controls are mounted directly behind the tractor's rear cab window or can be mounted inside the cab with cable controls (optional). To maintain the machine's efficiency the temperature of the hydraulic oil is controlled thermostatically. The machine has a harvesting capability of in excess of 6 tonnes per hour. |

The Orchard Arm is a rear mounted hydraulically operated circular sweep with a bouncing arm used to sweep the apples from underneath the trees This is run from the tractor hydraulics.
The bouncing arm allows the sweep to be moved by the trees allowing the tractor to travel in a straight line.
The Orchard Arm can be made as either a left handed machine ( as shown ) or a right handed machine. This has to be specified when ordering. |

The Sabre is a tractor-mounted apple harvester and is a one-person operated machine, which is designed to suit the needs of the modern large sized bush orchard. Depending upon the density of the crop and ground conditions the Sabre is capable of harvesting 60 tonnes per day. The Sabre consists of a side-mounted 1000mm wide pick-up system on to which a Tree Sweep is mounted. The fruit is collected by the pick-up system and is cleaned by our unique cleaning system, which employs no moving parts, which allows the debris to be discharged at the rear of the machine. The fruit is then carried up by the lift elevator, deposited on to a secondary cleaning conveyor, diverted on to the rear discharge elevator and then delivered in to the trailer.
The Sabre is supplied with Front Paddles, which are mounted to the front of the tractor and are used to clear the fruit from the center of the row forming 2 rows of fruit one of which is collected by the pick-up system on the first pass. The Front Paddles are driven by the Sabre's own hydraulic system. |

SFM Technology have combined their unique pickup head with the versatility of a standard compact tractor to create a one man operated harvester that is gentle with the apples and kind to the ground. Four wide tyres and 4 wheel drive lower the ground pressure and allow you to harvest in bad conditions without ruining your orchards. The apples are elevated from the pickup head into a bin at the rear of the tractor. When the bin is full it can be lifted and emptied into a waiting trailer.
We have tried to give you something that makes economic sense too! Because the harvester incorporates a standard compact tractor with hydrostatic transmission, it can be used for other jobs around the place when you don't need it for harvesting. As an extra feature, you can recover some of the initial investment by selling the tractor if you ever want to upgrade to a larger harvester in the future. |

The Super Scamp is a pedestrian operated, self-propelled harvesting machine, which is ideally suited for orchards up to 20 acres and has a harvesting capacity of up to 20-30 tonnes per day of windrowed fruit. In the UK the Super Scamp has harvested crops of up to 600 tonnes in a season.
The machine has 3 forward and 1 reverse gear transaxle gearbox which is powered by the 8 HP Honda petrol engine with a centrifugal clutch which allows the operator to control the machine using only the throttle control. The machine is fitted with a tiller steering system, which enables it to be very manoeuvrable, and able to operate in almost any conditions. |
